Summer is here and the heat is on, especially here in the South where I live. It is hard to find clothing that is cool, yet classy. Aventura/Ecoths has the answer with pieces from their sustainable line of clothing. These pieces are made of organic cotton, which is lightweight and perfect for the summer heat. Today, my husband and I am sharing two outfits from the Spring/Summer line.

Easy Summer Tomato and Cucumber Salad

Summer means BBQ's, picnics, and pool parties. It is hard to know what type of food to bring to these outings, especially if the dish is going to be sitting out for a couple of hours. That is why I came up with this easy Summer Tomato and Cucumber Salad, which is refreshing and can withstand sitting outside since it does not have a mayo based dressing.

This easy tomato and cucumber salad is the perfect side dish for any summer BBQ.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small financial compensation if you make a purchase using this link

I am embarrassed to admit that I have had my Cricut for almost a year and have yet to make cards with it! It is such an easy way to save money and create a custom card for someone. Recently, I needed several "Thank You" cards for my AWANA volunteers at church, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to make my own. I also learned how to use the Cricut pens in the process.

Tips for installing Luxury Plank Vinyl Flooring

As part of our basement renovation, we decided to use Luxury Vinyl plank flooring throughout our new space. The reason we picked this is we could install it ourselves, it's relatively budget friendly, we can lay it over concrete floors that are not 100% level, and it can withstand moisture. Our goal is to use the basement bathroom for guests during the summer when the pool is open, which means wet feet coming in and out. We also have a dog, so we need something to withstand his nails and muddy paws.

What I am Wearing - White on White

Nothing says Summer like an all white outfit! Wearing white on white does not have to be a hard look to pull off. I know if you have small children then white can be a hard color to wear due to having little, dirty hands around. I am even hesitant at times, because I am clumsy and afraid of spills.  Wearing all white with a pop of color is a great Summer look to try on occasion.

Bible Journaling - How to Use Water Colors

I am slowing branching out and trying new mediums in my journaling pages and this month I am sharing how I use watercolors. I have been hesitant to use water colors very much because I have been scared of using too much water and ruining the pages, but I love the way the page looks and decided to try a couple of techniques.

Mix and Match with Outfit In a Box

Even though I am pretty good at putting outfits together, it never hurts to have some help. I love the concept of an "Outfit In a Box." This is where you can buy an entire outfit, usually 3 pieces. (top, bottom, and accessory) These can usually be mixed and matched easily with other pieces. Today I am sharing an Outfit in a Box from Simple Addiction and how to style it multiple ways.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small financial compensation if you make a purchase using this link.

How many of you are tired of digging through your messy closet to try to find something to wear? I for one can relate! Since our home was built in the 60's we do not have the luxury of walk-in closets in our bedroom. I am grateful that we at least have two closets in the master bedroom, otherwise my husband's wardrobe would be out of luck! (Sorry, Honey!) I finally got fed up and decided I was going to organize my small closet once and for all...and I did it for under $50!

I post my Bible journaling pages weekly on social media and frequently get asked what kind of Bible I have, if the pictures are already in it, and what it is all about. Easy Strawberry Smoothie

When Spring rolls around and fresh fruits start to come into season, I love to make smoothies for a snack or breakfast. My teenage son is picky about what he eats and does not like many fruits, but he will eat strawberries and loves them in a smoothie. This allows me to sneak in some extra goodness, like yogurt.

Incorporating Pops of Color Into your Decor

While standing in the check out line at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago, the cover of a magazine caught my eye and I had to pick it up! It was a shot of a bright kitchen with turquoise cabinets (SWOON!) and open shelving with colorful dishes. Obviously, the magazine went in my cart and came home with me. It inspired me to share some of the ways I incorporate color into my decor to hopefully inspire you to do the same.

Do you have trouble keeping your mind focused on the pastor's message? I confess, this is something I struggle with every Sunday morning. I am guilty of allowing my mind to wander to mundane things, like what I am fixing for lunch, ideas for my next blog post, and even what I am going to wear tomorrow. I am embarrassed to share this with you, but I know I can't be the only one. We are busy people and it is hard to get our mind to slow down when it's used to multitasking all the time.
