Summer Ice Cream Party

I am partnering with Oriental Trading to share some ideas on how to create an Ice Cream themed party to celebrate the beginning of Summer! This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small financial compensation if you make a purchase using this link

I am the director of our AWANA program at church, which is a  children's ministry that runs during the school year. It is time for the kids to be out of school for Summer, which calls for a celebration! What screams "Summer" more than ice cream?! Here is how I created an ice cream party to celebrate the end of the AWANA year and the beginning of summer vacation.

What screams "Summer" more than ice cream! Here is how I created an ice cream party to celebrate the beginning of Summer.

I decided to make an ice cream sundae bar, complete with all the toppings. I stated with an ice cream themed table cloth and centerpiece and built off the theme from there.

How to Organize A Small Closet for Under $50

This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small financial compensation if you make a purchase using this link.

How many of you are tired of digging through your messy closet to try to find something to wear? I for one can relate! Since our home was built in the 60's we do not have the luxury of walk-in closets in our bedroom. I am grateful that we at least have two closets in the master bedroom, otherwise my husband's wardrobe would be out of luck! (Sorry, Honey!) I finally got fed up and decided I was going to organize my small closet once and for all...and I did it for under $50!

Staying Active with prAna Clothing

These clothes have been provided to me by prAna as part of the Mom Blogger Club, but all opinions are 100% my own. #prAnaClub

Summer is here, which means going on outdoor adventures and spending time by the pool. Comfort is key, whether it is shopping all day at the outlet malls, spending a fun-filled day at the water park, or soaking up the sun by the pool. prAna’s clothing is created to be fashionable, comfortable, and versatile and is made of organic cotton or hemp, which is perfect for the active mom on the go!

Easy Summer Grapevine Wreath

Welcome back to our fifth month of 12 Months of Wreaths! I am excited to be co-hosting again. Ever since I made my Spring wreath using deco mesh, I have been looking for inspiration to make another wreath. I picked up a small grapevine wreath form at Goodwill for $1, so I decided to make a summer grapevine wreath for my side door, using some supplies I had on hand.

Our Basement Renovation - Learning How to Drywall, Then Hiring It Out

In my last post, we had hung all the drywall and had just started mudding and taping all the joints. Being that my mother grew up helping her father who was a Drywaller by trade, she knows a thing or two. She spent a Saturday showing us how to apply the mud and tape to the joints and corners.

How to Bible Journal Without a Journaling Bible

I am partnering with DaySpring to share a look at the new Illustrated Faith Rise Up kit. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small financial compensation if you make a purchase using this link.

I post my Bible journaling pages weekly on social media and frequently get asked what kind of Bible I have, if the pictures are already in it, and what it is all about. I have even hosted a couple of Bible Journaling workshops at my church and several of the ladies were concerned about not having a special Jounaling Bible. I am here to show you today that you can still be creative and illustrate God's Word without purchasing another Bible!

Easy Strawberry Smoothie

When Spring rolls around and fresh fruits start to come into season, I love to make smoothies for a snack or breakfast. My teenage son is picky about what he eats and does not like many fruits, but he will eat strawberries and loves them in a smoothie. This allows me to sneak in some extra goodness, like yogurt.
There is no excuse to not get your fruit in with this easy strawberry smoothie!

Incorporating Pops of Color Into your Decor

While standing in the check out line at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago, the cover of a magazine caught my eye and I had to pick it up! It was a shot of a bright kitchen with turquoise cabinets (SWOON!) and open shelving with colorful dishes. Obviously, the magazine went in my cart and came home with me. It inspired me to share some of the ways I incorporate color into my decor to hopefully inspire you to do the same.

What I am Wearing - Olive Dress for Graduation

Graduation season is upon us, and many of us have at least one to attend. I, myself will be attending my nephew's college graduation this month. With unpredictable weather and outdoor venues, it is hard to know what to wear. I found a comfy, cotton dress from Aventura that can be dressed up or down for any graduation or other year-end school event.

Ways to Stay In Love With Your Bible

A special thanks to DaySpring for allowing me to review this book and share my honest thoughts.  This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small financial compensation if you make a purchase using this link.

It is no secret that I love Bible Journaling because it helps me spend more time in the Word. If you read my recent post on Diving Deeper in Your Faith, I confess that I have times that I struggle with finding time to open my Bible. The truth is, I think we all do, which is why I was excited to receive a copy of 10 Ways to Fall in Love With Your Bible and Stay In Love by Shanna Noel. If you are not familiar with that name, Shanna is the creator of Illustrated Faith, which is an online Bible Journaling resource and community.

If you want to stop feeling guilty about not reading your Bible, then come along with me and say goodbye to all your excuses.

I have a special post for you today! Ya'll, I am so excited to be participating in my very first Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest! If you have not heard of this, it is where a group of bloggers compete to win prizes by making over a piece of furniture. There is a different theme and brand sponsor each month. This month the theme is "Cut n Paste with Overlays" and we are using decorative panels from a company called O'verlays, to update a piece of furniture.

I have to confess that I have a crush on blush this season! I have never been a pale pink kind of girl, but this blush trend that is popping up all over has me obsessed! I have added several blush pieces to my wardrobe this season, including this gorgeous blush, floral Maxi dress. I purchased it to wear for Easter, but it can be worn all Spring and Summer.

Our pets are part of the family and we treat them like our children. There are so many ways to pamper your pet these days with clothing, personalized food bowls, special food, and even pet spa days! Not all pets have someone who loves them as much as I love my dog, Charlie, which is where Rachael’s Rescue® comes in!
