How to Get Creative at MIXXER Makerspace

This shop has been compensated by Inmar Intelligence and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MixxerCommunity #MakeStuffLearnStuff

Have you ever had a project in mind, but did not have all of the tools needed to bring it to life? Let me tell you about a super cool place I recently discovered, which is a maker's dream! MIXXER Community Makerspace is a DIY community space where you have access to the tools you need to create projects in electronics, sewing, woodworking, metalworking, and more! Mixxer’s mission is to provide access to Tech, Tools, and Community, as well as training.

Prior to this opportunity, I had never heard of Mixxer, but as a DIYer, I was definitely exited to learn more! I visited the Mixxer location in the the Industry Hill Neighborhood in downtown Winston-Salem, NC (my hometown.) Alan, the Executive Director, was gracious enough to give me and my husband a personal tour, answered all of our questions, and helped me with each step of my project. Currently, Mixxer is only open to members for safety reasons and they are taking precautions to keep everyone healthy, such as mandatory masks and temperature checks at the door. There are a variety of memberships available including individual, student, and family options.  Mixxer does currently offer limited in-person workshops, along with offering some virtual classes. While Mixxer is only open to members, anyone can join!

Summer Ice Cream Party

I am partnering with Oriental Trading to share some ideas on how to create an Ice Cream themed party to celebrate the beginning of Summer! This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small financial compensation if you make a purchase using this link

I am the director of our AWANA program at church, which is a  children's ministry that runs during the school year. It is time for the kids to be out of school for Summer, which calls for a celebration! What screams "Summer" more than ice cream?! Here is how I created an ice cream party to celebrate the end of the AWANA year and the beginning of summer vacation.

What screams "Summer" more than ice cream! Here is how I created an ice cream party to celebrate the beginning of Summer.

I decided to make an ice cream sundae bar, complete with all the toppings. I stated with an ice cream themed table cloth and centerpiece and built off the theme from there.

The Nest Fest 2016

I love attending craft fairs because they are such a huge source of inspiration for a crafter and blogger like me.  Recently I attended The Nest Fest in Midland, NC, which is only about and hour and a half from where I live.  I was able to meet my bloggy bestie Bethany from Pitter and Glink.  We connected on Instagram a while back and have been friends ever since.  She also lives in NC, so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to hang out and find some unique items.  It was the perfect day, with perfect Fall weather, so I wanted to share it with you!
