What I am Wearing - Lace Up Maxi Dress

Maxi dresses are a staple in my closet year round. They can easily be dressed up or down and are perfect on days when you do not feel like shaving (am I right?) Today I am sharing a heather grey maxi dress with a lace up front from PinkBlush.

Maxi dresses are a staple in my closet year round. They can easily be dressed up or down like this one from Pink Blush!

The best part about this dress is that it is under $50 and has POCKETS! It is super cute with striped sneakers like I am wearing here or you can add sandals and a statement necklace to dress it up.

VBS on a Budget - Back to Basics

I have been working in VBS for over 16 years and have been the Director for at least 7 or 8 years (I lose track after a while!) and have tried about every idea out there for having a successful VBS. We have spent close to a thousand dollars on materials and decor, spent countless hours building huge set pieces, and tried all types of gimmicks to make VBS great for the kids. A few years ago, we decided to go back to the basics for VBS. Our goal was to focus on the message to the kids and spend as little as possible on decor, games, and crafts. Let me tell you, it is so much less stressful and the kids enjoy the VBS experience just as much!

Here is how we pulled off our Geared Up for God VBS with just the basics.

Basement Guest Bathroom Reveal and Budget Friendly Decor

I am partnering with Oriental Trading to show you some budget friendly ways to decorate your bathroom.

I honestly was beginning to think this day would never come! It was a little over 2 years ago when we marked out our bathroom layout with painter's tape and broke ground for the underground plumbing. Now, we have a gorgeous full bath and changing area for us and our guests that come to enjoy our pool!

I am finally revealing our basement guest bathroom and how I decorated it on a shoestring budget!

What I am Wearing - Floppy Summer Hat

Even though summer is coming to an end, there is still time to catch some rays at the beach or by the pool. Even though I love being in the sun, as I get older I realize I need to protect my face more than ever. In addition to sunscreen, I have recently started wearing floppy sun hats. This spring, I added the Albany hat from Aventura to my collection and it has been a staple in my beach bag this summer.

How to Create an Inspiring Office Space

If you are like me, you probably spend quite a bit of time in front of your computer. Because of this, I want my office space to be organized, functional, and inspiring. You may remember I stole a corner of our Living Room to create an office nook several months ago.

Create an Inspiring Office Space with colorful accessories.

Now that I have been working there for a while, I have made a few changes to the original space to make it more inspiring and functional.

DIY Sliding Barn Style Door From a Slab

We recently added a  laundry room in our basement and knew we wanted to use a sliding barn style door to maximize space. If you have shopped around, you will know that Barn Doors and the hardware to hang them with is super expensive, so we decided to DIY our own using a slab and pocket door hardware.

DIY Pom Pom Earrings

I recently bought a bag of pom poms to use on my beach tote bag and had some leftover. With pom pom jewelry being so on trend right now, I decided I could easily make my own earrings.

Let's get started and make a pair of Pom Pom Earrings!

Bible Journaling - Tracing if You Can't Draw

I have hosted a couple of Bible journaling workshops and the first comment I usually get is: "I can't draw." I am here to tell you that you do NOT have to be an artist to be creative in your journaling. In addition to other ways I have showed you, such as doodling, stamps, stickers, and using printables; you can also trace onto your pages.

You do NOT have to be an artist to be creative in your journaling; try tracing onto your pages!

My friend Bethany at Pitter & Glink has created another wonderful devotional, along with downloadable printables, which include some black and white ones, perfect for tracing!
