Birchbox Review November 2015

It is month two of my BirchBox subscription and I am pretty happy with the products I received for $10. The theme for this month was pampering and polishing, so the items related to personal indulgence.  The box itself was very pretty; it was turquoise with a rich brown flower pattern.   Although these are all sample sizes, the full size versions of these products come to about $100.

amika - Nourishing Mask:

I used this on my hair and I really like it so far. The formula is thick and creamy and coats my hair well. It has a subtle vanilla scent that is very pleasant.  It left my hair silky and smooth after blow drying.

Dr. Lipp - Miracle Balm:

I used this on my lips and my first impression is not very positive.  The sample that I got was tiny and I could barely squeeze any out.  The little bit I got out and put onto my lips was very thick and sticky.  I expected it to be a thicker balm, like Aquafor or Carmex since it is used for skin repair, but the consistency did not feel nice on my lips. The instructions say you can also use it to tame unruly brows, and nourish cuticles, so this may be better used in those applications..
LOC - One & Done Shadow Stick:

This was the extra that I selected to receive in my box. I had never tried a shadow stick before, so I was excited to use it. I received the color, Impress Me, which is a nice coppery brown, perfect for fall. The stick went on smoothly onto my eyelid and stayed all day without creasing.  It also is waterproof, but I did not have any trouble removing it with makeup wipes.  I really like this product!

RUSK - Elixir Mist:

I really liked this product! I flat iron my hair almost daily and this mist helped tame the fly-aways and made it shiny. It also has a wonderful smell that lasted on my hair all day.

Temple Spa - La La Lagoon Aromatic Bath & Shower Gel:

This shower gel has a nice scent which reminds me of going to the spa.  It is infused with mint, peppermint, and basil, which is supposed to help relive stress.

All in All, I think the box a was good value this month for the products I received.  If you want to give it a try, use my link to sign up https://www.birchbox.com/invite/562xv
