MCM Felt Christmas Decor with Cricut
I have been feeling the Mid Century Modern vibe the last couple of years and want to bring more of that into my Christmas decor. This year, I got to work and used my Cricut and transformed a plain tree skirt, that I already had on hand, with felt (inspired by this post from Krys at Melo-Drama.) I also made some colorful felt house ornaments.

Painted Chipboard Christmas Wreath
It is time for this month's Craft and Create with Cricut Challenge, where several of my Cricut-loving blogger friends team up to bring you creative craft ideas. This month's theme is Christmas, to get you in the mood for holiday decorating.
I went back and forth over what I wanted to make. I really wanted to try my hand at using chipboard and the knife blade in my new Cricut Maker. I thought about making ornaments (which I will still do,) but settled on a layered chipboard "Joy" wreath for my door.

Pom Pom Filled Christmas Ornament
I realize Christmas is quickly approaching, but there is still time to craft when it is a project as easy as this one! DIY ornaments make great neighbor or hostess gifts or gift toppers. I used plastic ball ornaments, bright pom poms, and holographic vinyl to make this Festive Pom Pom Filled Christmas Ornament.

Rustic Wooden Snowflake Sign
I think I have an obsession with snowflakes, since my last few projects have used them in some way. I use a lot of snowmen in my Christmas decor, so snowflakes obviously fit right in. Since I have another mantle to decorate this year in the basement, I have had to pull out all of the decor I own and get crafty as well. To compliment the snowman theme, I decided to use scrap wood, paint, and vinyl to make a Rustic Wooden Snowflake Sign.
When we installed the cedar closet in our basement, we had a pile of scrap pieces left over that we did not want to throw away. We planned on using them in projects and I thought they would be the perfect size for a rustic sign.

Faux Leather Santa Hat Ornament
Each year, I like to add one or two new ornaments to my tree that mean something to me or my family. Although I love looking at all the themed trees on Pinterest and Instagram, who has the budget or the storage space to change up all the ornaments every year. Plus, there is something about pulling out handmade or special ornaments each Christmas and reliving the memories, especially since my son is 16 and won't be at home many more years. (OK, I need to stop before I cry all over my keyboard)
Today, I am using my Cricut to make a Santa hat ornament using faux leather and glitter vinyl for an Ornament Exchange I am participating in with some of my Cricut blogger friends!

Movie Night Gift Basket
I am a fan of making gift baskets because they are easy and inexpensive to fill, because you can usually find everything at the dollar store. If you need a quick neighbor gift, make this easy Redbox Movie Night basket.
Everyone can use a night in once in a while, especially after the busy holidays!

Tips for Hosting a Progressive Dinner - Appetizers
For the last several years, the youth group at our church has participated in a Progressive Dinner. If you have never heard of this concept, it is where different families host portions of the meal: Appetizers, Main Course, and Dessert. This is a fun way for the youth to interact with different families within the church. My family hosted the appetizer portion last year and agreed to host again this year. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have caught some of the fun in my InstaStory!

Cozy Themed Holiday Gift Basket
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BigLotsHoliday #CollectiveBias
The holiday season is upon us and Big Lots has everything you need for those last minute gifts you forgot about, like your neighbor or a friend at work. Since there always seems to be someone I forget about, I pick up a few extra gifts that I could quickly wrap up in a gift basket.

DIY Christmas Card Holder
Even though people do not seem to be sending Christmas cards in the mail as much as in years past, I still get several from family members. I always struggle with how to display them. I have put them up on the mantle, on the breakfast bar, taped them to the door, and even stuck them on a metal sun that hangs on my wall. This year I decided to make something to hold them.
It is so easy to make and only requires a couple of supplies. Bonus: you can use it as a frame after Christmas is over!

Christmas Star from Afar + A Giveaway! {CLOSED}
A special thanks to Christmas Star From Afar for providing a kit for me to review and one to give away! As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Christmas is my favorite holiday; it represents family and traditions for me. For my family, we attend a Candlelight service on Christmas Eve and then watch A Christmas Story. I always struggle to keep the focus on the true meaning of Christmas, instead of the commercialism that surrounds it.

Holiday Cookie Packaging Ideas
This Holiday Cookie Packaging Ideas shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ShareTheHoliday #CollectiveBias
I look forward to the holidays because I get to spend time with family and friends that I do not see often and share family recipes. One of my favorite events is a holiday cookie swap because I get to try my friends' yummy recipes, as well as share my own. One of the fun things about cookie swaps is getting to take a box of assorted cookies home with you or making a package to share with a neighbor.
I love to decorate my containers, so they are as festive as the cookies inside. Rubbermaid TakeAlongs makes it easy to share your favorite cookies and the Quik Clik Seal™ keeps them fresh for days (not that they will last that long!) The best part is that they are microwavable, top rack dishwasher, and freezer safe.
