Getting Started in Bible Journaling Using a Journal

The journal was provided to me by DaySpring to review, but all opinions are my own.

There are many ways to study scripture and one of the ways I like to dive in to the Word is through journaling. It allows me to focus on the passage and be creative in the process which helps me retain what I am reading. Even if you do not have a Journaling Bible, you can still get creative while studying scripture.

Get Started in Bible Journaling with the Devotional Doodle Journal!

This Devotional Doodle Journal is the perfect place to start if you do not know where to start. It offers a short devotional with lines for journaling and a prompt page to doodle on. The one I started with (shown below) was the simple task of drawing stars.

Ellie Claire 365 Devotional Journal Review

The journals were provided to me by Ellie Claire Gifts to review, but all opinions are my own.

I have recently been given the chance to work with Ellie Claire Gifts and am glad be able to share some inspirational resources with you. A few weeks ago, I reviewed a set of Art Journals and gave away two of them to a couple of my followers on Instagram! With the new year approaching, many of us are making goals and one of mine is always to spend time daily in the Word. One thing that helps me stay on track is having a daily devotional I can easily turn to.  I am excited to share with you a set of 365-day devotional journals.

With the new year approaching, many of us are making goals and one of mine is always to spend time daily in the Word. One thing that helps me stay on track is having a daily devotional I can easily turn to.

All three have beautifully illustrated covers with modern artwork. They also have an elastic strap that holds the book closed and a ribbon book mark to save your page. Each daily devotional ends with a thought to meditate on as well as a lined area to record reflections and thoughts.

Ways to Stay In Love With Your Bible

A special thanks to DaySpring for allowing me to review this book and share my honest thoughts.  This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small financial compensation if you make a purchase using this link.

It is no secret that I love Bible Journaling because it helps me spend more time in the Word. If you read my recent post on Diving Deeper in Your Faith, I confess that I have times that I struggle with finding time to open my Bible. The truth is, I think we all do, which is why I was excited to receive a copy of 10 Ways to Fall in Love With Your Bible and Stay In Love by Shanna Noel. If you are not familiar with that name, Shanna is the creator of Illustrated Faith, which is an online Bible Journaling resource and community.

If you want to stop feeling guilty about not reading your Bible, then come along with me and say goodbye to all your excuses.

What I am Reading - The Christ-Centered Home

Lately I have been trying to read more faith based books, because I find it helps me to focus on the good in my life rather than the negative.  The Christ-Centered Home by Emily Belle Freeman shares 12 practical lessons (one for each month) to help keep Jesus in your home.  At the end of each chapter there is a discussion question for reflection and a snack recipe that the entire family can enjoy.

What I am Reading - Curious Faith

A special thank you to Family Christian for providing an advanced copy of this book to review.

I was initially drawn to the name of the book, when I was presented with the opportunity to receive a copy of this book.  I have really been trying to connect more with God lately and have a bigger faith. The book, Curious Faith: Rediscovering Hope in the God of Possibility by Logan Wolfram shows you how to overcome the boredom of your daily life and rediscover hope and freedom in God's plan for your life.

What I am Reading - I'm Happy For You (Sort of...Not Really)

I love to read, so when my friend, Ashley (Mixed Bag Ashley), told me about this website called Blogging for Books, I was hooked!  I selected this book based on the title, since this is something I struggle with.  It is so easy to get caught up in the comparison trap, especially in this day and time of social media's constant presence.  I know I suffer from OCD (Obsessive Comparison Disorder) when scrolling through my Facebook and Instagram feed.  This book called I'm Happy For You (Sort of...Not Really) by Kay Wills Wyma, addresses how to find contentment in a culture of comparison.  To find out more about this book and the author, click HERE.
