3 Ways to Style a Plaid Shirt Dress

It has been a while since I have shared a fashion post on here, but I am back today sharing for a special cause. I am joining some of my fellow Aventura Ambassadors to create a Dessember Team to bring awareness to modern day human trafficking and slavery by wearing a dress each day in December.

I am sharing several ways to style a dress and talking about why I am wearing dresses every day in December to help bring awareness to modern slavery and human trafficking.

It’s a simple campaign that started out with one woman, Blythe Hill, who committed to wearing a dress for every day in December as a way to bring awareness to the problem of modern day human trafficking and slavery.

Creating a Cozy Living Area in a Basement

We recently completed a major remodel in our basement, which included updating the living room area. Prior to the renovation, we spent zero time down there because it was dark, cold, and uninviting. My main goal when creating this space was to make a cozy area where we could hang out as a family or entertain friends.

I am sharing tips on how to make your basement space cozy, bright, and inviting.

How to Wear a Velvet Tunic 2 Ways

I recently worked with an Agnes and Dora rep on a collaboration and one of the items I selected was a purple velvet tunic. When I put it on, I was taken back to a simpler time when I worked at the Mall and listened to Stone Temple Pilots and Brittany Spears. If you have no idea what I am talking about then you are too young to have been around when velvet was "in" during the early 90's! It is times like this that I wish I would have kept my velvet pieces.

Rustic Wooden Snowflake Sign

I think I have an obsession with snowflakes, since my last few projects have used them in some way. I use a lot of snowmen in my Christmas decor, so snowflakes obviously fit right in. Since I have another mantle to decorate this year in the basement, I have had to pull out all of the decor I own and get crafty as well. To compliment the snowman theme, I decided to use scrap wood, paint, and vinyl to make a Rustic Wooden Snowflake Sign.

I used scrap wood, paint, and vinyl to make a Rustic Wooden Snowflake Sign.

When we installed the cedar closet in our basement, we had a pile of scrap pieces left over that we did not want to throw away. We planned on using them in projects and I thought they would be the perfect size for a rustic sign.

What I am Wearing - Winter White and Black

The holidays are here, which calls for dressing up more than any other time of the year. I am making a bold statement by pairing winter white and black together in a geometric print dress and wool coat. I recently won a giveaway for  Eliza J dress and I picked this one, since I do not have a lot of long sleeved dresses that are appropriate for Winter.

What I am Wearing - 4 Ways to Style a Sweater Dress

Disclosure: The dress in the post was provided to me as part of the Aventura ambassador program, but all thoughts are 100% my own.

Even though it may seem like I never wear the same outfit twice, I do not have an unlimited wardrobe, so I use accessories to change up a basic piece into several outfits.  A sweater dress is a must have for fall and winter, so I am sharing four ways to style it.

3 Ways to Style a Tunic and Leggings

My go-to Fall outfit has to be a tunic and leggings because it is easy to throw on and super comfy. This combination does not have to be boring when you add layers and accessories. Today I am sharing 3 Ways to Style a Tunic and Leggings by mixing and matching pieces in my closet.

Create multiple looks from a basic tunic and leggings by adding layers and accessories!

Winter is upon us, which means colds, muscle aches, and dry skin. I cannot always be with my teenage son while he is at his dad's house or on youth retreats, but I can still take care of him by sending along a winter survival kit. None of us can afford to be sick during this busy season!

Make your favorite guy a winter survival kit and personalize it by adding their initials to it, using adhesive vinyl.

Last weekend, my son went on a retreat in the mountains, which involved quite a bit of hiking, which led to sore muscles. Luckily he was prepared with the Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream and Extra Strength TYLENOL® in his winter survival kit.
