Brand Love - E.L.F. Cosmetics and #playbeautifully Challenge

I have recently become obsessed with a makeup line called e.l.f. (Eyes, Lips, Face) cosmetics.  It has been around for a while and I probably used it in my younger years, but I have recently become re-acquainted with it through Instagram.  The line is so affordable, and it can be found at your local drugstore, Target, and even the Dollar Tree! The products are all good quality and come in a wide variety of shades and styles.

I have been enjoying using my e.l.f. cosmetics lately, so I was excited that I was selected to be a part of the e.l.f. Beauty Squad where I get to try new products monthly and help promote the #playbeautifully challenge on Instagram.  By posting looks you create with e.l.f products and using the #playbeautifully hashtag, you can win a makeup haul and/or be featured on their page.  I am inspired to try the new looks that I see on Instagram!

Here are the products I received
e.l.f. Illuminating palette - I have not used a palette like this before and I am not 100% sure what to do with it. I have been using it on my cheekbone and the bridge of my nose mainly to add some extra shimmer.  The colors are very nice and I think there is a shade that will compliment any skin tone.

I am wearing Marsala Blush lipstick
e.l.f. On the spot blot - mattifying blotting papers - The blotting papers come in a cute little case and has a nice pad that you attach the papers to for use.  The papers work well for removing oil from your face if you tend to get shiny throughout the day.

e.l.f. Lipstick in Marsala Blush - This lipstick goes on nicely and also has a pleasant smell to it.  It is not drying on my lips and is a pretty, neutral color that works well with any palette.

Swatches of the e.l.f. Prism palette
e.l.f. Prism eye shadow in Sunset - At first glance, I did not think these shades would be wearable for me on a daily basis because I am a brown and nude shadow girl. I have worn the plum, gold and the mauve colors and really like the way they look.  In the picture below, I am wearing the white on my brow bone, the mauve shade (second from the right) on my lid, and the gold on my crease.  The colors are very pigmented and there is not much fallout when applying with an eye shadow brush.  I will definitely be wearing these colors more often!

I used the above products to achieve this look.
e.l.f. Precision liquid eyeliner in black - I am a novice when it comes to using liquid eye liner. I have always preferred the pencil type, but I love the clean look that can be achieved with the liquid liner. My main problem with other liners is that the liner will transfer onto the crease of my lid before it dries completely.  This liner went on nicely, and dried fairly quickly and stayed put all day.

e.l.f. Kiss it goodbye lip color remover - This works wonders! You just put a couple of drops on your finger and smooth it over your lips, then use a cotton pad to remove stubborn lip color.

I hope you all will join me in the next e.l.f. #playbeautifully challenge on Instagram! What are your favorite e.l.f. products?

I received these products from e.l.f. cosmetics in connection with Collectively, but all opinions are my own.
