Personalized Dog Bowl Tutorial

If you follow me on Instagram, you are probably already familiar with my handsome pup, Charlie. My husband never had dogs growing up, so Charlie is his first real experience with a dog. I have had dogs my entire life and knew I wanted one when we bought our house 7 years ago. We adopted Charlie from a friend at church (he was one of her dog's puppies) when he was about 3 months old. He is a Husky/Shepherd mix and is one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen.

Our pets are part of the family, so they need to be made to feel special. Why not personalize their food and water bowls for a unique gift?

Charlie's favorite time of the day is dinner time; he even "pays" us for his meals. It took us a while to catch on when he would bring us one of his toys and drop it at our feet, after he finished his dinner. We thought he just wanted to play, but we finally realized he was bringing us one of his toys for "payment." How sweet is that!?

Here is what you need to personalize your pet's food bowl:

Cutting Machine
Vinyl (make sure you use the Outdoor kind if the bowl does not stay inside)
Food bowl (clean and dry)
Transfer tape (optional)

Step 1: Choose a font and pattern in the design software. I choose a dog silhouette and a standard font.

Step 2: Cut and weed the vinyl. If you choose to use the transfer tape to help keep the letters straight when applying them to the dish, then place the tape over the name and remove it from the cutting mat.

Step 3: Apply the name and design to the bowl. If you are using the transfer tape, then separate the tape from the letters, leaving the vinyl on the bowl.

I recently purchased a new bowl for Charlie, that has sections in it, which helps him eat a little slower. The Veterinarian said he was probably eating too fast, which was causing him to have stomach issues. Let me tell you, stomach issues and carpet do not mix. I wish I would have had STAINMASTER® Carpet Pet Stain Remover years ago. It removes stubborn pet stains and leaves behind an invisible shield, which makes clean up easier the next time an accident occurs.

Now that Charlie has a new bowl, he does not have accidents as often. The good thing is that STAINMASTER Carpet Pet Stain Remover can be used on any stains, such as coffee, chocolate syrup, and dirt.  It also contains ODOR REMOVE™ Technology, which cleans and protects your carpet without leaving a sticky residue behind. It's as easy as 1-2-3 to use!
  1. Spray directly on affected area
  2. Wait 3-5 minutes
  3. Blot with a clean paper towel or cloth

Make sure you pick up a bottle in the cleaning aisle the next time you are at your local Target, buying your pet supplies.
