What I am Wearing - Denim Vest and Star Studded Skirt

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! I am sharing a patriotic inspired outfit today in a denim vest and flowy skirt with a star print. 


We live across from a park and a year or so ago, it was remodeled to represent a ship. I have been wanting to take pictures over there forever, but it seems like there are always tons of people over there and I am not confident enough to have a photo shoot in front of an audience! Recently, on a 90 degree day, I noticed it was deserted so I grabbed my camera and my photographer (a.k.a. my son) and seized the opportunity!


I had already planned on wearing a stars and stripes look, so this backdrop was perfect! I paired a navy and white striped tank top with a star-printed skirt, denim vest, and cutout oxfords. I recently picked up this vest from ADORNit and I have to say...it made me feel old for a minute because I rocked this look back in high school. Isn't it funny how style comes back around?

    You are making me want to get my denim vest out, I haven't worn it much this summer. I don't know why, because I loved wearing it last summer. I have a similar skirt I need to pair it with! You look adorable!

      I used to have one, but got rid of it. I guess I should keep everything since it comes back in style!
