I am a sucker for pun-y tees, so I decided to make a yoga themed one, while trying my hand at layering HTV.

Creating and Cutting the Design

Supplies:
T shirt - Charcoal gray
Heat Transfer Vinyl - Bubble Gum Pink and Dove White
Cricut Explore Air
Standard Grip Mat
Iron

I used the Cricut Design Space to create the T-shirt design. I searched for a free donut pattern and used a plain font. The donut image had multiple colors in it and I only wanted to use two colors, so I changed the donut to white to match the words and the icing and sprinkles to pink.

Once I was happy with the size, I prepared to cut the vinyl. Make sure to select Iron On Vinyl on your machine and Mirror, so your image is not backwards. Once the first cut is complete, simply press the blinking arrow to release the mat, then load the next color mat and press the Blinking "C" to cut your second piece of vinyl.

Once both cuts were finished, I removed the vinyl from the cutting mats and trimmed the pieces of vinyl to the size of the design. Then, I weeded the excess vinyl, leaving the design that will be transferred to the shirt.

Applying HTV Vinyl in Layers

Start by placing the t-shirt on a hard surface. I have found that the tile floor in my kitchen works best; I just lay a towel down underneath. Pre-heat the iron to the correct temp for your material. Iron the area on the shirt where you are going to be placing the design. Place the background design face down on the t-shirt; I placed the white vinyl with the words and donut. Apply firm pressure for about 30 secs. Repeat until you have covered the entire design and the liner pulls away.

Layer the pink vinyl (the icing) over the donut and apply firm pressure until it is stuck and the liner easily pulls off.

I tied up the sleeves with pink ribbon to add a little extra sassiness! It was so easy that I plan to make more tees, using different colors and layers! Get the Free Pattern in Design Space!
