Have you tried the new Patterned Iron On™ from Cricut? I am using it to customize a plain kitchen towel for Spring!

This month we are making Spring themed crafts using our Cricut and I am sharing a custom kitchen towel using foil and patterned iron on.

Have you tried the new Patterned Iron On™ from Cricut? It comes in a 3-pack of assorted designs! I thought this project would be perfect for trying out this product for the first time.

Supplies:
Cricut Explore Air
Patterned Iron On™
Foil Iron on
Standard Grip Cutting Mat
Iron or Cricut EasyPress
Plain kitchen towel
Spring has Sprung design

I decided to customize a Make It Now project in Design Space and add the "Spring has Sprung" quote to the floral design. I made the text a different color than the flowers because I wanted to use the patterned iron on for the flowers and foil iron on for the words.

Measure the area on your towel and size the design and text to fit in the area. Make sure to place the iron-on shiny side down (for this one, the pattern should be down) on your mat for cutting and select the Mirror button in the design space. (Note: You have to select Mirror on each of the mats) Follow the instructions on the screen for cutting and changing out the mats.

Weed the extra vinyl from your design and place the liner face down on your towel in the area you want it to go. Set your iron to the temperature for your material and let it preheat. Apply firm pressure to the design for about 30 seconds, repeating until you have covered the entire design. Carefully try to remove the liner from the iron on, repeating the process with the iron until it is stuck to the towel.

The foil is so shiny that it does not photograph well, but it coordinates perfectly with the pastel patterned vinyl.
