Supplies needed for the custom beach chair
Canvas type beach chair
Cricut Explore Air (or similar machine)
Cricut EasyPress
Iron on vinyl (multiple colors)
Standard grip mat
Beach Sleep Repeat Design
I started out by creating my project in Design Space after measuring the area of the chair. You can use my ready made Project in Cricut Design Space by clicking the link below or create your own.
I chose to use white for the font and yellow for the images, which meant I needed two mats. Since this is Iron On make sure to select the Mirror button and place the vinyl shiny side down on the mat. Select Iron on for your material on the machine dial, load the first mat, and press the blinking "C" to cut. Repeat for the second mat. Once the cuts have completed, remove the vinyl from the mats and weed the excess from the design, just leaving the image you will be ironing onto your chair.
I cut my pieces apart so I could save the vinyl scraps, but you can leave it as one piece to make it easier to place on the chair. Once I had all of the pieces where I wanted them, I pre-heated my Cricut EasyPress to 285 degrees. Once the EasyPress beeped to show it was ready, I applied pressure for 60 seconds to the top half of the design. Repeat the process over the bottom half until you have adhered the entire design to the back of the chair. Gently pull away the liner and make sure the vinyl is adhered securely.
Now your plain beach chair no longer looks like all the other ones on the beach and it's easy to find in a sea of chairs! What would your chair say?
