Scripture Study Tips with the (in)courage Devotional Bible

I am partnering with Frontgate Blogger Network to bring you the beautiful CSB (in)courage Devotional Bible. All opinions are my own.

It has been a while since I have posted about Bible Journaling, but I am back today to show you the beautiful CSB (in)courage Devotional Bible I received, that is made especially for women! The Bible highlights 50 women in the Bible and how God worked though their lives. It also includes lined journaling space for notes and personal reflection.

If you have never heard of (in)courage, it is an online community for women offering support and resources for meaningful connection. For me personally, I struggle with knowing where to start and what to study, so resources like this website are a great help for me in planning my devotional time.

Here are some of my tips that help me be accountable to spending a daily quiet time in the Word:

Follow a devotional or Scripture Reading Plan- I find it very hard to just sit down and start reading chapters of the Bible. I find I am much more likely to read my Bible when I have a recurring theme or set of scripture to study. There are many free resources to help with this, such as the (in)courage site, Dayspring, and Well-Watered Women. There are also 10 themed reading plans at the back of this Bible, covering themes such as brokenness, friendship, hospitality and more!

Use a Journal - I have been Bible Journaling for a few years, illustrating scripture and writing out notes and reflections on the passage. I also use a travelers notebook for sermon notes, so I can reflect on them at a later time. I recently started using the Give Me Jesus Journal, (from Well Watered Women) which provides space for deeper response to a passage by writing what you learned, how it changes you, and how the passage points to Jesus. This Bible features a lined space at the bottom of each page for note-taking.

Choose a consistent time each day - This can be difficult because plans change, but if you carve out time each day...in the morning, afternoon, or evening, it will quickly become a habit.

Keep your resources handy - Have your Bible, devotional, journal, pens, etc. all together where you have your quiet time. I have a fabric basket that I keep my supplies in, so I am not wasting time looking for a pen when I should be studying my Bible.

PRAY - Pray over the scripture and come with expectation to learn God's will.

These are just a few tips that work for me. Leave a comment below with what helps you spend time in the Word and what your favorite scripture or devotional is. I can't wait to get started on the reading plans! Take a look below at the beautiful colors and illustrations on the pages!
