Winter is upon us, which means colds, muscle aches, and dry skin. I cannot always be with my teenage son while he is at his dad's house or on youth retreats, but I can still take care of him by sending along a winter survival kit. None of us can afford to be sick during this busy season!
Last weekend, my son went on a retreat in the mountains, which involved quite a bit of hiking, which led to sore muscles. Luckily he was prepared with the Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream and Extra Strength TYLENOL® in his winter survival kit.
Make your favorite guy a winter survival kit and personalize it by adding their initials to it, using adhesive vinyl. I used my Cricut Explore Air to cut out the vinyl letters for my kit, but you can use your own cutting machine.
Step 1: Using the design space software, select your desired font and enter the initials. Cut out the letters on your machine.
Step 2: Carefully weed the vinyl from the letters.
Step 3: Apply the letters to the outside of your pouch. I am using a clear plastic pouch, so the letters adhere well and you can easily see the items inside.

Supplies for a winter survival kit:
Hand sanitizer - Since he isn't always around soap and water, this keeps the germs at bay until he can adequately wash his hands.
Lotion - My son suffers from eczema which flares up even more during the cold weather, when his skin is dry. Keeping his skin moisturized is necessary in battling this itchy skin condition.
Bandages - My active son is always ending up with cuts and scrapes, so band-aids are a must.
Facial tissue - When a cold strikes, these are necessary to combat a runny nose and contain sneezes.
Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream - This helps relieve minor aches and pains from exercising, hiking, or playing sports during cold weather. (for adults and children 12 years and older; use as directed)
Extra Strength TYLENOL® - This is always good to have on hand to combat muscle aches, headaches, or fevers brought on by a nasty cold.
What do you keep in your winter toolkit?
If I had a nickel for every time a youth asked for a Tylenol because he didn't have one.... lol Good idea to include that in the kit!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I know how that is with my own child!
