I am partnering with DaySpring to share how you can use devotional kits to dive deeper in your faith. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links for your convenience.
I have fallen in love with Bible Journaling and try to spend a few days a week in my Bible this way. But, I have to admit, I fall into a rut at times. I feel like my journaling is not as pretty as other peoples I see on social media or I do not feel inspired by a particular verse. This is when I need to take a step back and remind myself WHY I journal. I journal to spend time in God's Word and get a deeper understanding of specific verses.
Here is what you get in the kit:
- 1 plastic pouch
- 1 devotional booklet
- 1 clear stamp collection
- 1 roll of washi tape
- 1 sheet of cut-out paper pieces
- 2 cardstock sticker sheets
- 3 tip-ins
- 1 magnet
- 1 thank you card from Shanna Noel
I have been working through the 14-day devotional and journaling the key verses on each day. This devotional is split into three parts: Connecting with God, Connecting with Friends, and Connecting with Community. Each day has a main verse and thought to go along with it, as well as a place at the bottom to write your own thoughts.
One of the things I struggle with is making time to read and meditate on my daily devotional. And it is my own fault...I let other things get in the way, like chores, errands, and social media. Here are some tips to help you carve out time for Jesus each day. The main thing is to create a consistent routine.
Lay out your Bible in a quiet spot - This could be your coffee table, desk, or bedside table. You just need to be able to see it to serve as a reminder.
Decide on a time - Is the best time in the morning when you wake up, before bed, or somewhere in between?
Have a reading plan - Know what verse or passage you are going to study, so you are not spending time flipping through the Bible. This is where a devotional kit or reading plan helps, because you know what verse you will be focusing on each day and can already have your Bible open to the correct page.
Meditate and Pray - Start by praying that God will reveal his message to you. Read slowly enough to really understand the verses and think about what you are reading.
As you spend consistent time in the Word, you will draw closer to God and it will become second nature to read and journal in your Bible on a daily basis. What tips help you carve out time for Jesus each day?
