What I am Wearing - How to Style Camo

Camo print is not just for hunters anymore. It has been popping up all over in pants, scarves, shoes, tees, and even accessories. I am not going to lie, it has taken me a while to get on board with this trend because I grew up in the country and I still tend to think of it as hunter gear. But, seeing how cute it can be on other fashionistas has inspired me to try it!

Styling camo does not have to be intimidating if you follow a few  a few guidelines:

Stick to one piece: If you wear multiple pieces of camo together, it creeps into Duck Dynasty territory.

Add feminine accessories: Adding a vest or necklace keeps the look from being too manly. I like the combination of blush pink with camo, which keeps the look girly.

Don't be afraid to mix patterns: I love camo paired with leopard or stripes. Just try to keep the other pattern in the same color family, so it is not too busy.

For a casual look, I am pairing a distressed camo tee with black, ripped knee jeans and leopard Vans. I am adding a pop of bright yellow with an envelope style clutch and bead bracelet to make the look feel more Spring-like.

For a dressier look, I am layering the camo tee under an olive green, cowl neck sweater dress with blush cut-out booties and blush, leather earrings. The dress is short sleeved and a lighter weight, which is perfect for Spring.

  1. I have a pair of camo pants and I'm always a little nervous to wear them... I don't know why! Maybe because my kids give me odd looks when I do wear them? Ha! I think I've only worn them a few times. I do love olive and I am loving that camo tee with the black distressed pants!
