Halloween Scarecrow Box - Popcorn Box Challenge

This is my second year participating in the Popcorn Box Challenge hosted by Laura Kelly Designs and Sponsored by World Market. I had so much fun last year, making a Jack Skellington Luminary that I jumped at the chance to be a part of it again. I had a couple of ideas that I was considering, but once I received my package, I decided to make a Scarecrow Popcorn Box with Candy Corn Popcorn.

The items I received in my package from Laura were:

Popcorn box: World Market
Udderly Smooth Hand Cream
Assorted fall colors of felt: Kunin Group
Paper eye mask: Ellison/Sizzix
Candy corn, microwave popcorn, mini pumpkins, googly eyes, personalized pencils: Oriental Trading

Step 1: I used chalk to trace the popcorn box shape onto the orange felt, then I cut it out.

Step 2: I used double sided tape from GlueDots to attach the felt to the popcorn box.

Step 3: I cut out the "straw hair" and nose from the yellow felt. Since it does not have to be perfect, I just winged it.

Step 4: I attached the googly eyes and used a black marker to draw the crooked mouth to finish the scarecrow's face.

I mixed the candy corn into the popcorn for a sweet and salty treat.

This box would make the perfect package for a Fall gift of popcorn and candy for a neighbor. Just fill a mason jar with unpopped corn, tie a lollipop or bag of candy corn to the lid with a piece of twine, and drop it in the popcorn box!

  2. I love this idea. I would never be good at these challenges, because I'm totally not creative, lol, but you seemed to do well always. I checked out some of the others, too, and they are so creative!!
