Barre Themed Shirts Using Iron On Vinyl

I stay fit by taking several classes a week at my local YMCA, including Barre, Yoga, and PiYo. Obviously, I still want to look fashionable while working out, so I am always on the hunt for cute tees and tanks I can wear. After seeing a couple of my instructors wearing tank tops with barre quotes on them, I was inspired to DIY my own. I picked up a few $5 Mossimo tank tops at Target and got to work.

Supplies Needed:

Cricut Cutting Machine (I have the Explore Air)
Standard Grip Cutting Mat
Iron On Vinyl
Weeding Tools
Iron

I opened up the Cricut Design Space software and used the Template feature to start designing my shirt. I started with the tee shirt Template and added a Text box in the center. I chose the saying "Barre SO Hard" in Balega Std text.

Once you decide on the text and the size, you are ready to cut. Thank goodness the new design space prompts you to mirror the image for an iron-on, because I almost forgot!

There is also a reminder to put the vinyl on the mat shiny side down. (I have made that mistake before!) After the machine has finished the cut, weed the excess vinyl from the mat and place the liner on the shirt.

If you need instructions for the iron-on process, head to my Glitter Mermaid Shirt post for the details.

That's all there is to it! Now you have a top that all the other barre babes will want! It was so simple, I went ahead and made another one that said "Barre Belle" and you can find these projects in the Cricut Design Space. Click the links below:

  2. Love both colors :) Is Barre hard? I'm looking to add a class into my nonexistent workout schedule, lol, but for real. I've heard it's hard!

    1. Barre is harder than I expected, but I am pretty sure you could do it. It is a great lower body workout!
