I thought the Cricut Maker was mainly for people who sew (not me), but it turns out it has so many features that an avid crafter can enjoy, such as being compatible with the new Knife Blade for thicker materials up to 2.4 mm (sold separately) and being able to cut hundreds of materials, from the most delicate fabric and paper to thicker chipboard and leather. It does everything that my Cricut Explore does, plus SO...MUCH...MORE!

Materials for your first project
My first impression when I opened the box is how pretty and sleek the machine is. I love the gold color on the top and the clean design. It actually took me a few minutes to figure out how to open it, since there is no longer a button. You just have to lift the lid where the indention is on the front. I also like the dual tool cups and deeper tool tray to hold my accessories.
What are some of the differences from the Explore machines?
- No dial - the material possibilities are limitless
- Deeper tool tray to hold all your accessories, including a magnet to hold your blades
- Two larger and deeper, rubber-lined tool cups
- Holder for your tablet or phone
- Charging port - so you can charge your device while working on a project
- Compatible with Scoring Wheel (sold separately) for gift boxes, 3D decor, and gorgeous paper flowers
If you do like to sew, you need to check out these features:
- Compatible with Washable Fabric Pen for marking pattern pieces
- 500+ digital sewing patterns and quilt blocks available from Simplicity®, Riley Blake™, and more
- Rotary Blade for cutting virtually any fabric without backer
If you do not have a Maker, there are several deals going on this month celebrating the 1-Year Anniversary of the Maker's release, including Free Shipping on orders over $99 using code AUGSHIP (good thru 8/31/18)

That tray is really nice and I love the storage on the side of it! Cricut is really up'ing its game! I love the gold and white design of the Circuit itself, too!
