Are you tired of all the stark white rooms you see all over Facebook and Instagram? I like the simplicity and cleanness of the neutral palette, but miss the personality that color brings. For me, I have always welcomed color into my home. Apparently, "Pops of Color" are back, according to HGTV magazine. Color does not have to be scary as you can see by some of the pieces I have in my house.
Incorporating Pops of Color Into your Decor Inside:
I painted a hand-me-down china hutch to be a focal point in my Dining room.I added a pop of color to an empty corner with a fun, bird print vase and faux floral stems.
I used pops of turquoise to accent my neutral office area.
Incorporating Pops of Color Into your Decor Outside:
I look forward to spending the summer out on my bright yellow and blue deck.I changed my front door from boring burgundy door to a cheerful ray of sunshine.
I gave a tired bistro set a bright, ombre update.
Tips for adding Pops of Color
1. Keep the walls neutral: If you are adding a large piece of furniture in a bright color, you will want a neutral backdrop (like white or creme) to keep the shades from competing with each other.2. Go bold with accent pieces: If you want to start small, go with throw pillows, a lamp, or vase in bold colors or a bright piece of artwork.
3. Choose the perfect shade for you: You do not have to go with the trends. If you like yellow, find the perfect shade that makes you happy.
Are you a person that prefers bright color over white? How do you incorporate color into your decor?
I can tell that your favorite color is turquoise! All of these pops of color look great.
