3 Halloween Projects with Cricut

If you have been following me for a while, then you will know that Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! I love dressing up in costume and decorating my whole house. Buying decor every year can get expensive, so I have to get creative and DIY some projects. Luckily, I have my Cricut Maker to help me craft up some spooky goodness!

Today I am sharing 3 easy projects using card stock, iron on vinyl, and regular vinyl to make decor for three areas of my house.

Supplies Needed for "Boo!" Door Mat

Cricut Maker or Explore Machine
Cricut 12x24 MediumGrip Mat
Iron On Vinyl (White)
Cricut EasyPress (or Iron)
Plain Door Mat (I found this one at Dollar Tree)

Open up my Boo Doormat project in DesignSpace or create your own, sized to fit on the mat. Place the vinyl shiny side down on the mat and make sure to mirror the image prior to cutting. Once complete, weed the image and center the design on the mat. Preheat the EasyPress to appropriate temperature and set the timer. Use the EasyPress to apply pressure to the design on the mat. Repeat until the entire area has been covered. Gently remove the backing sheet to reveal a spooky door mat!

Supplies Needed for Flying Bats

Cricut LightGrip Mat
Black Card Stock
Loctite mounting putty

Open up the Flying Paper Bats Project in Cricut DesignSpace and Make It. Load card stock on a LightGrip mat and click the blinking "c" to Go. I made all of mine black, but you can load different colors if you would like. Remove the excess card stock from the mat and gently remove the bats. Slightly bend the wings up at the body to make them look like they are flying. I used a wall mounting putty to attach them to my walls and hutch.

Supplies Needed for Black Crow Frame

Cricut MediumGrip Mat
Regular Vinyl (Black)
Transfer tape
Cheap 5x7 Picture Frame

Open up my Black Crow Spooky Frame project in DesignSpace and customize it to fit your frame. Load the mat into the machine and start the cut. Unload the mat and weed the excess vinyl from the image. I removed the cardboard back from my frame and used transfer tape to adhere the image to the glass part of the frame. It's the perfect size for the mantel.
