Geometric Accent Wall - (One Room Challenge) Week 2

I am back with my progress on the One Room Challenge. To refresh your memory, this is a twice a year blogger event hosted by Linda at Calling It Home, that consists of 20 featured designers and hundreds of guest design bloggers showcasing a room makeover that they have to complete in just 6 weeks.

In my last post, I shared my current craft space and overall plan for the makeover.
You can catch up on that HERE.

This week, I am sharing an accent wall for the area behind my desk using removable vinyl. I like the concept of removable wallpaper, but not the process of hanging it, so I decided to DIY a pattern using my Cricut and 3 colors of vinyl.

Supplies Needed for Vinyl Accent Wall:

Removable vinyl
Cricut StrongGrip mat

I chose three coordinating colors (navy, teal, and silver) and selected a geometric print in Cricut DesignSpace. I customized the image and added a few more triangles to use up the entire piece of vinyl. Once I was happy with the image, I welded it together so it would cut exactly as I had it laid out on the screen. Once the cut was complete for all three sheets, I removed the excess vinyl from around the triangles so I was left with a page of stickers.

I just started placing the triangles randomly on the wall, layering some of them. Once the wall was filled up, I moved a few around to fill in any empty spaces. Then, I placed the items back on the shelves and moved a few more of the triangles around. When I get tired of the wall, I can simply remove the vinyl and start over!

    1. Thanks! I had seen bloggers paint a pattern on walls instead of wallpaper and this seemed like an easier and less permanent option!

  4. This looks great! I love the random pattern. I used my cricut to cut out peonies and did the same thing to my daughter Sienna's room in our last house with gold vinyl.

    1. Random requires much less work than a measured pattern, so I took that route. LOL! Oh I bet that is pretty! I want to tackle more rooms!
